The grout problem

Tiles are strong, but grout is the weak link. It absorbs water, stains black and becomes a permanent cleaning chore. An epoxy floor is seamless — there is simply nowhere for dirt to hide.

Impact and cracks

Drop a steel vessel on a vitrified tile and you get a chip. Epoxy is elastic enough to absorb that impact, and if it ever does scratch, it can be spot-polished instead of replaced.

Installation time

A 1000 sq ft epoxy floor is complete in 4 to 5 working days with zero demolition dust. Tiles take longer and leave debris.

Verdict

For showrooms, cafes, clinics, garages and modern living rooms, metallic epoxy wins on looks and maintenance. Tiles still make sense in wet areas such as bathrooms.
